Joint Meeting: World's Greatest Meal to End Polio Founder to Speak

Newport Rotary will hold a joint meeting with the Rotary Club of Maysville on Tuesday Nov. 11 at 5:30pm. Maysville Rotary will host a Cookies and Coffee "meal" in honor of the eradication of Polio in the Maysville Elementary School gym. Special guest will be the founder of The World's Greatest Meal to Help End Polio, Susanne Rea, from Australia.

Susanne, a Polio survivor, and Mukesh Malholtra from England wanted to do something to help raise money for Polio, Rotary's number 1 priority. They came up with this idea and started a social media campaign. Since that time, it has gone viral and has spread all over the world. The Gates Foundation matches every dollar Rotarians raise 2-1 so together with this match, WGM has raised almost $2 million. Newport Rotarians will make a donation, and, of course, individuals at the event may also.

Newport Rotarians will carpool from the Newport Rotary Building leaving at 4pm on Tuesday. Mondays meeting (Nov 10) is cancelled.
