Rotarians "Spring Clean" Town Projects

A beautiful day in Newport - Civic pride!
Newport Rotarians had a service meeting on May 13, 2013 and did "Spring Cleaning" of several existing Rotary projects throughout the town.

After having a light dinner at the Newport Rotary Building, the Rotarians got out the soap and water and cleaned the two Newport Rotary Town Benches, along the Howard Boulevard and Chatham Street thoroughfares. After that, the group revisited two gardening projects in the downtown area, weeding, trimming and restoring the flower beds at the Newport History Museum and in front of the Newport Elementary Gym. During the project, several passersby offered encouragement and thanked the workers for the benches and their efforts.

Rotarians Bevin & Pam Wall, Town Mayor Derryl Garner, Amos Parker and Maher Saikali participated in the service project.
