Newport Rotary received the District 7730 Governors Award, the highest club recognition for overall excellence, announced by 2021-22 District Governor Ellen Deaton. Only 4 of southeast North Carolina's 54 clubs qualified for last year's recognition.
Newport Rotary Immediate Past Club President Julia Capps accepted the award at the September 19, 2022 Newport Rotary meeting. The award recognizes club level leadership in the areas of membership, DEI (diversity, equity & inclusion) and Rotary Foundation support.
