On September 9, 2017, from 10am-2pm, Newport will be having a Community Festival. The festival will include Touch a Truck, old school games, many different types of craft vendor, live history and dance demonstrations, and a mini food truck rodeo. We are in need of volunteers to help with this event. If anyone is interested they can contact Kathy Jo Buttery at 252-223-4749 or email her at recreation@townofnewport.com. There is a form that will need to be filled out. Here is a ...list of areas we will need volunteers: Old school games, dance floor helpers, information tent, set up and take down, bounce houses, parking lot attendants, and possibly the country store. We would like volunteers to sign up for 2 ½ hour intervals, or they can stay all day if they would like. If you can commit ahead of time please let us know.
